Airport code

I found this rather interesting. As far as i concerned and after been landing in few both international and domestic airport for either pleasure or business purposes ( I personally never bother looking at that piece of white tag stitch on my luggage.Asal landing, ambik bag, custom clearance, keluar ambik taxi terus straight to my destination.so why and how is it created?
IATA codes are an integral part of the travel industry, and essential for the identification of an airline or a logistics company, its destinations and its traffic documents. They are also fundamental to the smooth running of hundreds of electronic applications which have been built around these coding systems for passenger and cargo traffic purposes(ko jako IATA )
